What Is A Vinyl Fence?
First thing’s first: What even is a vinyl fence?
Vinyl fences, otherwise known as PVC fences, are plastic fences made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC). It can get a little confusing, but all you really need to know is that PVC is a type of vinyl.
We in the business use these terms interchangeably, which leads a lot of people to ask “what’s the difference between PVC and vinyl fences?” It’s a trick question! When it comes to a fence, they mean the same thing.
What you do need to know as someone looking for a fence is that vinyl fences are a versatile, durable fence option for properties in northern New Jersey.
What Does A Keywest Fence Look Like?
Like we mentioned above, our Keywest style fence is one of our semi privacy PVC fence styles. Take a look at the sketch below to familiarize yourself with this fence design.
A section of this fencing consists of the following:
- Bottom rail
- Midrail
- Top rail
- 3″ wide pickets
- Posts
- Post caps
What Makes It A Semi Privacy Vinyl Fence?
The Keywest style is semi private because there are small spaces between the 3 inch wide pickets. This allows light and wind to pass through the fence. It also means you can see your neighbors through it.
You can customize the amount of space between the pickets. We offer five different spacing options:
- 1/2″
- 1″
- 1 5/8″
- 2″
- 3 1/2″
If you need more privacy, our Suburban vinyl fence is the way to go. This style has tongue and groove boards that snap together so you can’t see between.
Vinyl Fence Post Caps
You can customize the way your Keywest vinyl fence looks by choosing a unique post cap. All of our vinyl fences can use one of our seven post cap styles:
- Ball cap
- External flat cap
- Gothic cap
- New England cap
- Coachman cap
- Internal flat cap
- Teardrop cap
What Colors Does Keywest Come In?
We do most of our Keywest fences in white because it is the most cost-effective and readily available color. During the first year and a half of the COVID-19 pandemic, white was actually the only color our manufacturers were producing. Luckily, this has since changed.
Depending on availability, we can also build the Keywest fences in grey, clay, and beige colors.
If you’re interested in a color other than white for your PVC semi privacy fence, be sure to ask the receptionist or your sales representative for availability!
Other Semi Privacy Fence Ideas
If you love the idea of a semi privacy fence, but don’t love the look of the Keywest, there are two other PVC options for you!
Newport
The first is the Newport semi privacy PVC fence. These fences are built similarly to the Keywest, only they have wider pickets.
Instead of 3″ wide, these pickets are double the width at 6″ wide. With this style, your spacing options are a little more limited at either 1/2″ spacing or 1 1/2″ spacing.
Cape May
The second semi privacy vinyl fence is the Cape May. With the Cape May, we combine 1 1/2″ wide and 6″ wide pickets to create a unique picket pattern.
This is a pretty popular semi privacy style.
